EASTER EGGS

CLAIR OBSCUR EXPEDITION 33

Discover all the hidden treasures, secret areas, and all secrets, Easter eggs, and hidden areas

Sandfall Dev Painting

When accessing the Manor from Gestral Village, a cool easter egg can be seen as you find a painting of the Sandfall Team among the stored items.

Piano Music

Interacting with the piano plays different notes that form a song. A cool feature is that you can play different songs by switching characters! To find the piano, head straight from the entrance until you reach the long dining hall. On the right side of the dining table is a collection of musical instruments, and the piano is one of them!

Dining Hall Puzzle

In the Manor in Flying Waters, there's an optional puzzle you can play that requires you to hit certain switches in the room to open a secret door. If done correctly, you'll gain access to a secret room where you can get the Nocturne Pour Un Masque De Tristesse music record.

Man in the Trash Can

During the prologue, go to the bazaar up ahead and, just before the entrance, turn left to find a trash can. Talk to the trash can multiple times to reveal that there's actually a man inside. He will even reward you with a Chroma Catalyst for spotting him!

Clea Boss Fight

Clea is a secret boss that can only be fought in Act 3. You can find her in the Flying Manor, which also requires Esquie's flying ability to reach. Defeating Clea also rewards you with a silver trophy bearing her namesake. Be sure to battle her if you're collecting trophies.

Secret Ending

Unfortunately, Clair Obscur Expedition 33 has no secret endings. The endings are pretty straightforward and there are only two choices you can make to reach either of them.

Ichigo's Sword

Confuso from Expedition 33 looks very similar to Ichigo's Sword/Zangetsu from Bleach! This is thanks to its size, shape, and even the fact that a cloth is wrapped around its hilt. Thankfully, this weapon can be powerful if built correctly, making it a popular choice amongst Bleach fans!

Freaked Out Couple

During the Prologue, you can head to the the Central Plaza and find a hotel to the left that you can interact with. There is a couple inside and if you listen to them multiple times they will be freaked out. They will even give you a Colour of Lumina.

This is Fine Meme

You'll find a Gestral standing in a middle of a burning house in the Gestral Village. When you interact with it, they'll say "This is Fine", making a reference to a popular meme. To locate it, head to the Arena and from there, go left and to the direction where a purple Gestral is standing. Keep walking until you see a burning house on your left.

Wake the Sleeping Gestral

Just one house after the "This is Fine" Gestral is a Sleeping Gestral. Wake it up by shooting the mirror inside its house to get a free Colour of Lumina, though beware that you have to fight it afterwards!

Dancing Gestral

Head to the Gestral Village, specifically left of the pathway of the door to the Manor. Eventually, you'll see a pink Gestral. Talk to it and it will instantly do a popular dance that is similar to one in sims.

Composer Easter Egg

Behind the Dancing Gestral is another Easter Egg. There is a Gestral named Lorieniso playing the game's theme, Alicia, in an acoustic version. This is a reference the game's composer, Lorien Testard.

Clive Rosefield

Verso's Perelin outfit looks similar to Clive Rosfield from Final Fantasy 16. This easter egg exists due to the fact that Verso's voice actor, Ben Starr, also voiced Clive!

Hidden Monoco Portrait

There is a portait of the dev's Happiness Manager, Monoco, hidden inside a secret room in the Manor. To locate it from the main entrance, head to the second floor through the left stairs. Afterwards, jump through the very first painting at the left on the second floor.

Piano in the Manor

When you play the piano in the Manor's Dining Hall, the song that'll play will be the theme song of the character you currently have equipped.

Only Up Reference

Gestral Ascension is a beach activity that looks very similar to the popular game, Only Up! Both games also have a similar goal as well, which is to keep climbing up until you reach the top!

Expedition 60's Lore

Expedition 60 was one of the more successful expeditions thanks to how they trained their bodies! They discovered the secrets of the Paintress and even attempted to warn Lumiere about it. If only the gommage didn't stand in their way.

Renoir in a Swimsuit

Renoir will be wearing a swimsuit during the final cutscene if all of your party members are also wearing swimsuits!

Papa Va T'en

Once you finish Act 2 and have maxed your relationship with Maelle, the message on the Monolith will change. The Monolith has the number 33 since the start of the game.
